An 86-year-old woman has sued the Attorney General and the Ministry of Interior over the Guantanamo Bay ex-detainees in Ghana.
Mrs Margarat Banful, who is a former conference officer at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, wants the Supreme Court to declare the decision of the Mahama-led administration to accommodate the “high risk” ex-suspects as “unconstitutional”.

Thousands of workers in Ghana are hitting the streets today in protest of the recent hikes in petroleum products and utility tariffs.
The Trades Union Congress wants the Mahama-led administration to withdraw the recently introduced Energy Sector Levy.

Information gathered by The Punch reveals that some few members of the Ridge Hospital in Accra are opposing the appointment of Dr. Thomas Anaba as the new Medical Director of the hospital.
The group, who are behind camera, according to a credible source at the hospital [name put on ice] is spearheaded by the Acting Medical Director, Mr. Emmanuel Srofenyo who is using all tactics refusing to handover the seat to the newly appointed Medical Director.

The Government of Ghana has said it never broke the law in allowing two ex-detainees of the dreaded Guantanamo Bay prison into the country.
The two Yemenis - Mahmud Umar Mahammad Bin Atef and Khalid Mahammad Salih Al-Dhuby – will be staying in Ghana for two years under a special programme with the US.

The Director General of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Dr. Nii Moi Thompson said the economic development and structural transformation of this country wholely depends on a clear national vision rather than a political party vision.
"To be able to do all these successfully, we need a national vision not a political vision, " Dr. Nii Moi Thompson stated.

The management of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has placed 19 staff of the authority on interdiction.
It follows a nationwide investigation by the Bureau of National Investigations into some alleged financial malpractices at the scheme.

Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Mbiah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Shippers’ Authority [GSA] has said his outfit in conjunction with Borderless Alliance has started plans to roll out an electronic mobile platform to deal with nontariff trade barriers across the sub-region.
Dr. Mbiah mentioned the lack of increased trade activities among West and Central African countries which has been pegged around 9percent is very low for the Africa continent of about 400million population.

Chief Justice, Georgina Theodora Wood, is set to swear into office five new circuit judges and nine magistrates, to replace the corrupt judges who have been dismissed from the bench.
Their dismissal follows the judicial corruption exposé by investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI private investigative firm.

Dr. Emmanuel Kofi Mbiah, Chairman of the IMO Legal Committee has accepted an appointment to serve as a member of the governing board of the International Maritime Law Institute.
