NPP Joins New Register Protest At EC

Sammy Awuku

The national youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), under the leadership of Sammi Awuku, has indicated its readiness to join the protest at the offices of the Electoral Commission (EC) on Wednesday, September 16, to press home the need for a new voter register before the 2016 general elections.

In a post widely circulated on the social media, Mr Awuku, the National Youth Organiser of the party, said the decision to join the protest, being spearheaded by pressure groups, Let My Vote Count (LMVC), Alliance For Accountable Governance (AFAG) and Movement for Change (MFC), is because a new voter register for 2016 borders on the very survival of Ghana’s democracy.
